Thank you so much for visiting my site. I just wanted to welcome you and share my story.
My story starts well before my first picture. As a young girl growing up I continually struggled with my weight. At the age of 13 I asked my parents for a gym membership. I taught myself how to navigate around a gym and I loved it. I lost weight and headed into high school with confidence. While in high school I became a cheerleader and that became my passion. I worked out for hours a day between practices, games, tumbling, and competitions. Because I worked out so much I never had to worry about what I ate. Fast food was a staple in my diet and most mornings my breakfast was bagels, donuts, or croissants.
After graduating high school I stopped cheering but my diet stayed the same. This would start my yo-yo dieting and weight loss and weight gain over the next 10 years. I would gain weight, feel depressed, make a change, be happy and then do it all over again. I let food become my crutch and my coping mechanism for anything that stressed me out or that I couldn’t handle. I quickly learned that you can’t out train a bad diet. No matter how much I worked out it all came down to my nutrition.
Fast forward to May 2013, and one of the happiest times of my life. I gave birth to my daughter, Danielle, and I knew that my life would be changed forever. She was perfect and I was on cloud 9. I loved being a mommy and I was so blessed to have her in my life. Unfortunately, I put on a lot of weight during my pregnancy and weighed in at my heaviest ever. I was torn. I had this beautiful little girl but a body that I didn’t recognize. I knew that I needed to make a change. Not only for me, but for her. I wanted to her to grow with up a positive outlook on health and fitness and food. So I decided right then and there I would make a change.
In October 2013 I embarked on a journey to really to make a change. I did a few 30 day challenges I found online and I started to see the weight come off. Then in March 2014 I decided to do something I had always dreamed of. I was going to compete in a bikini competition. I joined Team Edge and started on my journey to the stage. In October 2014, 16 months after I had my daughter I reached my goals and I walked across the stage as an NPC bikini competitor. I felt amazing, I was in the best shape of my life and I thought it couldn’t get any better.
Unfortunately, after months of strict dieting and exercise all those past demons reared their heads. Stress eating, binge eating, hiding food, late night eating, etc. I went into a downward spiral. I quickly packed on the pounds and knew there had to be a better way. At the same time, while on my weight loss journey I had so many people asking me what I was doing and telling me how they were inspired by my transformation. I worked as a nurse in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and my co workers were all just astonished. I also realized how much diet and exercise was affecting the children I cared for. I would see diseases that could be completely preventable but I knew it had to start with the parents.
Again, it was time to make a CHANGE. I decided to become a health and fitness coach so that I could not only inspire and help others but also as a way to keep myself accountable to my own health and fitness journey. I specialize in working with moms and women who are ready to take that next step. And I’m here to show you that it is possible to have that body you’ve always dreamed of and to reach your goals. With a little hard work, dedication, support, and motivation, YOU CAN DO IT!!
And now as I update this, I am a mother of 2. I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy in May 2016 and I have been so excited to once again emabrk on this journey and share it with all of you.
