***Let me just start off by saying that this is completely MY OPINION!! What you choose to do during your pregnancy is entirely up to you.
Now that we got that out of the way we can get to the real reason why I’m writing this post. A week or so ago I posted a picture of myself eating a slice of pizza. My husband and I had been moving all day and I had no energy to make anything for dinner. We live in a small town so our options are limited and pizza it was. I believe in living a balanced life and I don’t feel bad about it. I had no crazy comments about how I shouldn’t be eating pizza or any backlash at all about putting pizza into my pregnant body.
Earlier today though I posted a picture on my Facebook of my morning Shakeology with my morning reading. I just wanted to share how I spent my “me time” in the morning and encourage others to do the same and take time for themselves.
Well, after that I started to receive messages from people who were “concerned” about me drinking Shakeology while I’m pregnant. Questions like…Are you sure you should be drinking that while you’re pregnant? Do you know what’s in that stuff? Are you sure it’s safe? Aren’t you afraid of drinking that while you’re pregnant? My answer to all of this was “NO!”
NO I’m not concerned if it is safe. NO I’m not worried about putting it in my body. NO I’m not afraid it will hurt my baby.
I always find it so interesting that when a pregnant woman posts pics of pizza, fast food, candy, ice cream, chips, etc., that no one bats an eye. But when I put something in my body that’s healthy and good for me, everyone has an opinion and something to say.
Here is why I’m not concerned about drinking Shakeology while I’m pregnant and why I will continue to drink it
-It’s a WHOLE FOOD
-it contains no processed ingredients, chemicals, or artificial sweeteners
-It curbs my hunger and my sweet tooth
-I feel fuller longer when I have it first thing in the morning
-It is my favorite meal of the day
-It has ingredients like Bilberry, Blueberry, Kale, Spinach, Cranberry, Chia, Pomegranate, Flax, Goji Berry, and more!
WHY would I NOT want to put this in my body? WHY would I not want to drink this every day? And why should everyone else be so concerned with what I put in my body? Obviously, what you choose to drink and eat and put in your body when you’re pregnant and every other day of your life is up to you. But what I do wish is that everyone would just stop judging each other and each others choices. Be more supportive in general and remember the golden rule…
If you don’t have something nice to say, then don’t say anything at all.
Love and hugs…XOXO!!
